MeowTalk is the world’s first science-backed and AI-powered cat translator app. Our mission is to help cat owners understand their cats’ needs better and make sure their pets live the longest and happiest life possible:

MeowTalk created a proprietary AI-powered model and trained it on cat vocalizations collected and labeled by veterinarians during scientific research. AI analyzes sounds captured by your phone, recognizes cat meows, categorizes them into one of the 11 general states of mind, and interprets them into human language.
I managed the entire design process, encompassing product scoping, user flows, wireframes, rapid prototyping, and usability testing. Conducted user research to identify pain points and developed innovative design solutions that address user needs effectively.

The old app has only four navigation options, making it difficult to find the cat room. When I'm outside, I need to locate the cat room quickly, but this is not possible in the current version. Also the UI is not intuitive.
After thorough research and problem identification, I have crafted targeted solutions that effectively address all user requirements, enhancing usability and overall experience.
The voice translation accuracy has been significantly improved through enhanced AI sound recognition, contextual learning based on cat behavior, integration of user feedback, and advanced noise filtering. These upgrades now deliver more precise and reliable cat translations, enhancing user experience and satisfaction.
In the new design, the Cat Room menu is now placed directly in the main navigation, making it easy to find. This ensures users can quickly locate the Cat Room without confusion, reducing wasted time and improving overall navigation clarity.
The updated design maintains the cat profile switch in the upper section of the screen for easy visibility and quick access. Users can now seamlessly switch between profiles with a single tap on the icon.
The redesigned interface simplifies the process of creating a new cat room by allowing users to tap the “Cat Room” navigation menu, where they can set up this option in their preferred room. This reduces complexity, making the setup quick and easy.
Translation is simplified in the latest version. After voice recordings, users are shown translations in a vertical popup. The final option, "Custom Translation," lets cat owners open an input field to create and save their own personalized translations. This streamlined process enhances the experience, leading to improved user satisfaction.
Key actions have been simplified, with quick access buttons added for frequent tasks and the Cat Room menu integrated into the navigation. These improvements make tasks faster and more intuitive, reducing user frustration and enhancing engagement.
The navigation system has been standardized to ensure consistency throughout the app. By implementing a uniform layout and clear labeling, users can easily understand how to move through the app, making exploration more intuitive and less confusing. This enhancement significantly improves user confidence and satisfaction while using the app.
We selected blue as the primary color for a modern, fresh look, paired with the Sora font for its readability and contemporary style. Together, they create a cohesive and appealing design.
I developed a unified design system with reusable components, ensuring consistency in color, variants, and UI elements. This streamlined collaboration and improved design efficiency while maintaining a cohesive user experience.
The main page provides distinct versions for freemium and premium users. Freemium users will encounter ads while using the app, whereas premium users enjoy an ad-free experience.
Designed the onboarding process in 6 steps that show full product functionality interaction, allowing users to engage with its features right from the start.
Here’s the complete transfer process for both Freemium and Premium users. The Freemium version features native and banner ads, while the Premium version offers a completely ad-free experience. I also integrated App Tracking Transparency (ATT) and push notifications to boost user engagement and privacy.
Instead of using images, I opted for videos to demonstrate the processes, making the case study quicker to navigate and easier to understand.
The Voice Record page features an intuitive interface for capturing your cat's sounds. Users can easily start and stop recordings with a single button, while visual indicators display recording duration and audio levels. After recording, users can review audio, edit translations, and save translations effortlessly.
This is a cat profile where you can create as many cat entries as you want. You can also view each cat’s history and health records. I enhanced the user experience and designed an intuitive, user-friendly interface.
MeowRoom is a dedicated space where you can record your cat's voice and create personalized rooms with custom names (e.g., living room, dining room, kitchen, etc.). You can also set up cat translations, manage alerts, and much more. The intuitive layout allows for seamless navigation, making it easy to find key features and engage with your cat's details effortlessly.
